April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM)
Programs or events held on campus (see below for other programs held this spring).
- April 23- When Sexual Assault and Related Acts Turn Legal (Offered 12pm and 4pm)
- April 24- 11:00am-2:00pm-National Denim Day… attendees met hearing board members, local sexual assault center staff and learned about sex stereotyping. Held 12pm-1pm. (see Denim Day Flyer below)
- April 29- 6:00pm-7:15pm-Sex, Nonconsenual Sharing of Images, and Relationship Boundaries

On April 16th from 11:00am-1:00pm the Title IX Office provided outreach and resources to the Lake Forest community and promoted other upcoming programs.

On Wednesday, April 10th, 3:00pm-4:15pm, the Title IX Office held a session in Student Center, Pierson Rooms A & B on the intersectionality of. Title IX and Clery and the history of how the laws came to be on college campuses. Faculty, staff, and students learned how sexual assault, dating, domestic and other violence prevention are addressed on campus, how we ensure your rights, and the current safety measures. Teal ribbons and wristbands were also given out to participants.

The Office of Title IX and the Health and Wellness Center Wellness Peer Educators kicked-off A-SAAM on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Mohr Student Center. Our offices collaborated on this “Teal Day” to raise awareness and shared giveaway items, resource materials, and the teal ribbon recognized for sexual assault awareness, survivors, and allies. Foresters picked up their ribbon to wear during the month of April!
