Office of Inclusive Excellence

Our office strives to create a campus that centers principles of DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging) and combats social inequity. We work to ensure that 91¿´Æ¬Íø students have experiences that develop understanding, respect, and appreciation for the diverse cultures identities of the community members around them.

Our Mission

The Office of Inclusive Excellence supports the College’s mission to embrace diversity by promoting dialogue, understanding, and respect among the ample identities represented within our campus community. Our staff work to foster student success for traditionally underrepresented and intentionally marginalized groups including, but not limited to, students of color, first generation students, international students, undocumented students and students identifying as LGBTQ+.

Celebrate, Educate, and Advocate are the three pillars of the Office of Intercultural Relations. We celebrate our culturally diverse community through our signature events and collaborations with campus partners. We educate our community about diversity, inclusion, and social justice through trainings and programs. We advocate for our students regarding all aspects of DEIB and provide opportunities for student empowerment and support.

Our Work

Even before classes start, our students feel the extra support our community provides when they attend First Connection, a pre-orientation program that welcomes incoming students as they transition to life at 91¿´Æ¬Íø, both within and outside of the classroom.

The Office of Inclusive Excellence provides ample opportunities and programs for students, faculty, and staff to learn more about the diversity that embraces them at the College. Whether it’s listening to international students share more about their home countries at Global Fest or watching our talented students dance on stage at Blackyard BBQ, our community centers diversity and inclusion.
