Anthony Mora ' 25, a business major with a double minor in entrepreneurship and digital media design, studied abroad this past semester at the University of Roehampton in London, England.

My time at the University of Roehampton was nothing short of spectacular; having the chance to live a true university lifestyle within the vast city of London gave me opportunities that I could never have dreamed of and memories I don’t think I'll ever be able to forget. My time outside of my UI/UX modules was spent searching exploring the different boroughs, specifically for art. Having the chance to take the tube across London to different gallery openings, special exhibits, and nightly expositions made every single day a new thrilling adventure. As a hopeful future gallery owner myself, seeing these installations made my dreams feel closer, so much more vivid, than I could have ever expected. I spent hours touring through the National Gallery, Tate Modern, Design Museum, and many more massive art institutions. Walking through some of the most prolific museums in the entire world was alone enough to motivate and inspire me.

The peaceful solitude I found throughout my time in London was also immsely appreciated and needed. Having to restart my life in a new country gave me not only a new more European perspective on life, but the time to process and change myself into a better version of myself. Building myself up from scratch allowed me to process and rethink a majority the assumptions and daily choices I regularly make at home. Coming back to the states has further proven the massively leap in growth I made.

And truly, thank you to the Pavelka and Smith foundation for their most generous scholarship. The chance to leave my home country and be schooled abroad is one I never took lightly, and one I will forever cherish. My gratefulness towards this act of kindness is immeasurable.
